Annual initiative also supports local and global communities with 1,882 volunteer hours

IRVINE, CA — Alliant Insurance Services employees raised more than $3.16 million in combined cash, food, and essential item donations in the company’s annual World Food Derby competition, breaking records and making it the company’s most successful Derby to date. In addition, Alliant employees across the nation joined forces and contributed 1,882 volunteer hours as part of the competition.

Created to support the local and global communities, World Food Derby is Alliant’s annual initiative to fundraise and volunteer time to help end world hunger in conjunction with World Food Day on October 16. This year, the Derby was extended to culminate on November 29, Giving Tuesday.

“We know that a wide range of social and economic issues worldwide have combined to negatively impact food security for many communities. To help, Alliant employees have generously volunteered their time, shared their resources, and given back whenever and wherever possible,” said Diana Kiehl, Chief Administrative Officer of Alliant and head of the company’s philanthropy program. “This year Alliant employees broke our previous record, providing us the opportunity to reach further and help even more. Giving back to the community has long been an essential component of Alliant culture.”

The need for assistance through donations, volunteerism, and resources has never been more crucial than now. Alliant supports a broad array of programs and charitable organizations nationwide, while encouraging and empowering employees to support causes that matter to them. This organization-wide approach uses collaboration and stewardship to ensure Alliant makes the widest positive impact possible both for today and long into the future.

2022 marks the 14th year Alliant has participated in World Food Day. Plans to make another meaningful impact in 2023 are already underway.
